CPR 2

Plan Ahead - On my journey through this eating disorder, compulsive overeating, a battle wages between my will and my desire to make Jesus the only stronghold I turn to.   Recognizing this I also am learning that I need to have a plan everyday, one that I can enjoy and look forward to practicing.

This plan is a spiritual plan as well as a physical plan.  Here are the things I include in my daily planner.
  1. A time alone with God.  This may be as simple as ten minutes of prayer and writing in my journal or as involved as a two hour retreat with my Bible and a close friend.
  2. An exercise routine.  Daily walking is good not only for my waist but for my mind as well.  I must find a way to exercise everyday and for me, walking is perfect.
  3. Prepare a Menu - For me, I not only need to journal the food I eat - before that I need to prepare a menu for the day.  This menu is one that I will simply check off as I complete a meal or snack.  This means that when I am hungry I don't have to make any "smart" food choices - I only have to follow my menu plan for the day.
Scripture encouragement for today is from Isaiah 35:1-3  "The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy. The glory of Lebanon will be given to it, the splendor of Carmel and Sharon; they will see the glory of the Lord, the splendor of our God. Strengthen the feeble hands, steady the knees that give way;"
