D is for Deciding

As I thought about the "D" word for today a number of them came to mind; all of which would be fun to write about. I chose deciding because I can most relate to this word - I have only been up for 4-1/2 hours but already I have had to make many decisions. To name just a few:

1. What to eat for breakfast
2. Do I really want to spend the next 1/2 hour doing a daily devotional
3. Get outside and walk the 3 miles I have mentally committed to walk
4. Drink my first 16 ounces of water for the day
5. Sit down and write this blog

We make many decisions, all day long. We decide to change our attitude, our behavior, we can decide to smile, pray, laugh, cry, help, teach...the list goes on. What a privilege it is have choice, allowing us to make our own decisions.

As we near the 4th of July it is appropriate to decide to give thanks for our country, for our freedom to worship, and for our right to make choices and decisions that will impact our future. Every day we can decide to move forward, to trust Jesus to guide and protect us.
