Y is for Yippee!

The Yippee is significant because it can be for many reasons that I am happy and shouting for joy.  Even if my eating habits were not so successful today (which they weren't) , perhaps I took a walk in the beautiful sunshine (which I did).  That is cause for celebration.  Life is entirely too short to keep berating myself day after day for giving in to my wants.

I learned during my devotional time this morning that all the negative noises I hear in my head are not from God.  Do you hear that?  They are not from God, but from Satan.  Oh, yes, Satan is real and like it says in Scripture, "He prowls around like a lion looking to devour."  He wants to devour our happiness and he wants to nip our joy in the bud.  Do you think for one minute that Satan wants to see you or I walking in the glorious sunshine God has provided, to hear us sing His praises as we enjoy a spring moment of superfluous beauty?

I think not.  One of Beth Moore’s sayings from “Breaking Free” is her foot-stomping command to the devil, “Satan, you have no authority here!”  I have called upon that one-liner many a time when feeling under attack.  Try it sometime, it works.  Oh, then, put a great big Y-I-P-P-E-E on the end of it.

Scripture encouragement for today is from 2 Samuel 22:30 “…with my God I can scale a wall.”
