And more tools for staying on track

MODERATION- How do you stay motivated when your favorite ice-cream is calling to you? You've just spent the entire day following your eating plan and now you find yourself alone in the house. No one is watching and you really do deserve a reward for your hard work...what do you do? I say, "Have some ice-cream!" One of the most important things I am learning after years of yo-yo dieting is that if I feel deprived too often I will soon give up and give in. I realize that there is no reason I cannot have the things I really crave as long as I practice moderation. In this case moderation translates into portion control, the tool we will discuss tomorrow.

I'll be praying for you,
Grace and Grins,
Judy

  1. Yes, moderation! I, too, find that this is the secret to keeping me going forward on losing weight. Deprevation soon turns to depraved eating and guilt. No weight loss just loss of motivation. I eat what I want to eat, so I'm not dieting, I'm changing my habits. Primarily, I change my portion sizes, not my desire and allowance for certain foods. Eventually my portions become smaller and some foods fall away. And I do lose weight which becomes my motivation.
