New Year's Resolutions

I can't begin to count how many New Year's Resolutions lists had "lose weight" as the number one goal. Every year I would start again and every year within a month I would give up. Let's use this site to help each other out. Let's share helpful hints and information and use this space as an online support group.

This week's topic is New Year's Resolutions. Have you been successful with a weight loss resolution? Tell us about it. If not, tell us about that too.

  1. Judy, I love your idea of an online support group! I find that some type of accountability is a must to help me be successful in controlling my bad eating habits that lead to my weight gain. I don't pay attention to what or how much I am eating. I usually start off with the resolutions not to eat after 7:00, no snacks and to honestly watch my portions. I pray for a heart's desire to overcome the bad eating habits. I gain a lot of strength and perseverance from prayer while I am in to weight loss. When I start to feel my clothes fitting better, I decide on the next goal. So, I will be back to let you know how it is going!

  2. I get anxious when I try to set concrete goals, such as a New Year's Resolution, because I know how weak I am at follow-through and then I get depressed, etc. I am working hard on living out the Serenity Prayer and living "one moment at a time." As I stay in the present and don't sit in the guilt of the past or worry of the future, I find I make better choices in the present.

  3. This is "all good!" As you begin your BLOG journey Judy, I am excited to stand beside you. I understand your struggle, as well as the challenges of so many others. I have gotten to a point where I am more content with my weight than ever before, and it is all because of my belief in myself, practice with changing life style and not just "dieting," and trust in the Lord. I set goals for myself, and though I may not always reach them, I keep them in sight. Having others to share with, and gain support from is HUGE! Thank you for being out there for us all!
