Perseverance

Keep On Keeping On- Have you ever noticed how God will put hints and clues in our path everyday? I began my journal for 2009 and the word perseverance seemed to be prominent in my devotionals. For a few days perseverance was the theme, and now it appears that God is still using this word to motivate me.

When I feel like giving up, God's Word will give me the encouragement I need to move forward - to keep on keeping on. Just because I slipped yesterday and totally abandoned my eating plan doesn't mean that it is over until next year, or next month, or next week. God's Word encourages me to be firm and face today with determination and resolve. I know that I cannot do this on my own and I also know that I need to face my hurts, hang-ups and habits every morning, but I don't have to face them alone. I recognize that this is the path Jesus has me on, the journey He wants me to take as I move toward Him. How about you?

Scripture Encouragement for today is from Acts 20:24: "However I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me--the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace."
