What Motivates You?

Motivation - What motivates you to stick with your eating plan? Regardless if your struggle is with anorexia, bulimia or compulsive over-eating: what motivates you each morning to start out right? This might be a very good question to ask ourselves as we face the future.

The dictionary defines motivation as:
  1. Give somebody a reason or incentive to do something
  2. Make somebody feel enthusiastic, interested, and committed to something
  3. To be the reason for something that somebody does
I have my reasons/motivation and they are mainly health related. Looking good is important, but as I get older I need to make certain that my body will last and that I will be comfortable and mobile in the coming years. Please share what it is that motivates you.

Scripture encouragement for today comes from Psalm 139:14. "I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made: your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

Til tomorrow,
Grace and Grins,
Judy

  1. My motivation comes from health issues also. I don't want them to happen to me. I am the menu planner and cook for my husband who has had open heart surgery and other concerns. So the motivation is pretty high at our house. That doesn't mean we don't have oops! days or meals. It does mean that we think about what we are eating, when and if any parties are popping up on the calendar. We are constantly and consciously making choices. Our motivation is to be in control of our health. Now if we would be motivated to exercise in the same way we are with our food choices, we'd be winning more of the battle! Coming to Write Eating daily keeps me accountable! Thanks!

  2. My motiviation is my health-- I want to feel better and be able to be more physically able to hike and do fun outdoor activities, like I was when I was a kid. I also want to be out of the grip of this food stronghold!
