Aspects of Food Strongholds

Physical - Today our topic will center on the physical aspect of our food stronghold. For our purposes here let's concentrate on two points: health and hunger.
  • Health - Achieving good health and then maintaining it is my reason for dealing with this issue in my life. I want to train myself to enjoy all the healthy fruits and vegetable and to get myself to the point of wanting/craving them and not the carbs I currently drool over.
  • Hunger - Learning to recognize hunger is a tool I am striving to master. I am working on identifying between want and need; between when I should eat and when I just have a longing for something sweet.
As I get older I know that it is important to get those extra pounds off for the simple reason that my joints can't take the pressure. I want to be able to climb stairs and take a long walk or ride a bike. If I don't take care of my body now, in a few years there will be consequences. That is motivation enough for me, how about you?

Scripture Encouragement for today is from Proverbs 16:31 (NIV) "Gray hair is a crown of splendor; at is attained by a righteous life."
