Choices

Enjoy each day - It is very important that learning to overcome our food stronghold doesn't put us in a place of doom and gloom. Just the subject - food stronghold - has such a negative ring to it. I must remember everyday that my food stronghold is simply a bad habit that I am trying to break. I must not give it more power over me than it needs to have.

Just because I am overweight or underweight and struggling with my behavior toward food, does not make me a bad person; it makes me human. Who do you know that does not struggle with something in their lives?

I am feeling good about myself for a number of reasons and I will list a few here to see if you also can identify with these successes I am practicing.
  1. I get up every morning determined to do the next right thing.
  2. If yesterday was not as successful as I wanted it to be, I don't give up.
  3. I recognize my victories and list them in my journal
  4. I ask God to help me as I begin another day.
Scripture encouragement for today is from Proverbs 15:32 "He who ignores discipline despises himself, but whoever heeds correction gains understanding."

  1. Every morning brings a new day. A clean slate. However, I try to bring the eating successes from yesterday into the new day and use them to remind me that I can manage today as well, even better. The best part of the day is sitting quietly with God and learning more about how much He loves me. That gets me powered up for the day. It gives me what I need to help conquer the "wants" throughout the day. If I make a misstep, I know He loves me and will be there for me the next day...just keep on going.
