This reminds me of times that I did not recognize Jesus in my life either. I missed the joy that He offered me because my eyes were only focused on yesterday and I did not allow myself the luxury of scanning the horizon for today's blessings. I am finally learning that when I am in the midst of a difficult time, a leg of the trip that is particularly hard to maneuver through, I try to open my eyes wider, search out the road in front of me for signs of His presence.
I do this by
- Re-reading my journal entries from times of past struggle and hardship. Can I identify where it was that God stepped in and took over? Can I see just how His presence in my life made all the difference?
- Going to my accountability or prayer partner and asking them to pray with me. This partner can give a new perspective and can help us see the truth that we might be blind to.
- Searching the scripture and asking God for His Word to be revealed; calling upon the Holy Spirit to take over and give me wisdom.
Scripture encouragement for today is from Zephaniah 3:17 "The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."
Grace 'n Grins,
Judy
