I am Worth the Effort - It is important that I accept myself and believe that I am worth the effort it takes to improve. I need to keep the self talk positive. I know from experience that I can talk myself into and/or out of anything! Therefore, what I say to myself is important. What I think of me matters. Remember too, what someone else might think of me is not my problem, it is out of my control.
My attitude needs to be good. I have to love myself and respect myself before I can begin to experience lasting change. How can I improve my opinion of me? Here are a few ideas to try.
- Every day when I get up I need to put on a smile - even before I have that first sip of coffee
- When I look in the mirror I will be sure to check out that smile and say something nice. Get a good mood started early.
- When I write in my journal today I will jot down three things that are good about me...I am kind...I have good friends...I have a strong and growing faith.
This is a good start at accepting me right where I am at, God does! Try it for a week and see if it doesn't make a difference.
Scripture encouragement for today is from Isaiah 54:10 (NIV) "Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet my unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor my covenant of peace be removed" says the Lord who has compassion on you."

Judy
Hey Judy, I definitely struggle with this. I think it is so easy for women especially to fall into the trap of negative self talk. Thanks for the tips!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, I can relate to "I can talk myself into/or out of anything." I like your tips! To me also it's not what others think, it is more a matter of what I think of myself. Prayer, talking it out (whining) with God, gets me back on a more positive path. I thank God for HIs great patience!
