Avoiding Potholes

Pray and Plan - It is Monday morning and as this week gets underway I feel confident that I can do this. I have a plan for today and I have asked God to help me. This plan not only consists of a healthy menu, but I have even gone to the grocery store and picked up everything I will need for this week. I don't have to run and grab a few things at the store when I am already hungry. I will be able to walk into my kitchen and prepare the meal I have already mapped out for this day.

Having a plan makes all the difference between giving in to my food stronghold and having the strength to turn away from the temptations that have been my downfall in the past. If I am having a difficult day, without a plan, I would grab a comfort food. With a plan, my stress level is already in a manageable place. This plan will include:
  • Healthy filling foods
  • Foods that I enjoy eating
  • Snacks at various times throughout the day
So, my week is off to a good start. How about yours? It is never too late to begin. Relax and enjoy this day!

Scripture Encouragement for today is from Ephesians 4:22-24 "You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."
