When planning a trip of this sort it is necessary to expect, even anticipate, a wrong turn here and there. That is part of the fun and excitement of life. How often has it been the detours we took that have provided the life-lesson. If you are like me at all, taking a detour can be exciting and a learning experience at the same time.
I usually have a map handy or my GPS activated on my phone, but even that doesn't stop me from getting off at the wrong ramp, or making a decision not follow instructions. Just like with my diet and exercise plan…I know what I have mapped out for me this day, it is only a question of whether I get off the path or not. There just might an interesting by-pass up ahead that needs to be visited.
That is all OK; we are alive, not merely surviving. We are experiencing life; allowing ourselves to enjoy the journey.

blessings; yes its a journey! And helpful if we plan good snacks and a few relaxation breaks along the way. i have been actively practicing just "being & breathing" a little more...a few extra minutes instead of rushing from one thing to another, esp after reading the chapter on Time from 1000 gifts. great resource on being mindful of Christ's presence here and now ...with us...right now...today...this moment...and looking out and noticing sunshine & being thankful right now. Seems simple, but maybe not so much for some of us! blessings your way, sister!
ReplyDeleteYes, enjoy the journey! I do better when I invest some time planning for 2 or 3 meals for the coming week. I enjoy looking for and planning meals that are very simple and more vegetarian than meat based. During the week I enjoy the feeling of knowing when I come home from work I have a plan for eating right. I'm working on training my brain for the treadmill. LOL...it's a prayer...God's working on me. God's blessings in 2013!
